i swear to god i dont have the energy to go revisit all these posts, but i cant help but wonder how much of this is at least as much MISCOMMUNICATION as it is bravado and shit-slinging.

maybe JIT (who, btw, comes from a very different collaborative environment over on tiles.ice.whatever) doesnt quite understand the way things are in gridcosm and exerts his desires (e.g. these things dont blend, do a better job) in a way that ruffles some feathers. also, i might add, in his second language -- which is always an excellent way to escalate misunderstandings, and i wish people would be more aware of that. so immediately, feathers are ruffled and (relative) hell breaks loose.

i see lots of accusations of "you are taking things too personally", but then i see things like "at least i am not french". WTF?! is someone being defensive in a new environment justification for blanket dissing of an entire culture now?

and before you start worrying that i am suddenly taking JITs side or something, i am not. perhaps jit just needs time to understand that there are many different tastes and talents on sito and understand that trying to get people to, say, BLEND, is like pulling teeth. and trying to get people to stop cutting and pasting or applying a filter to a mirrorered piece is like stopping the u.s. from bombing for oil. these things aint going to happen, so the only hopeful technique is to politely discuss possible *collaborative* improvements, and watch as people sometimes adjust what they do, and other times ignore them.

now lets play the game of how many people take some kinda personal affront to something i said. cuz all i am saying is not only, as JER points out in the start of this thread (and i said once already), is this getting old, but it just aint fun. on the plus side, i have seen (in the grid, as opposed to this forum) all parties involved *do good work together* at some point, in the midst of all this blather (and in spite of it), so i hope that can continue in the end. get used to the graphic incompatibilities, and lets not worry so much about who is "retarded", "french", or "in need of blow jobs".
