The "at least I'm not French" was immature, but it was in response to his total over-reaction to my (imho) rather non-offensive post:

"For whatever reason, JIT decided to start attacking me. I'm not one to ignore that sort of thing."

"I think JIT has a lot of talent, but I think that perhaps the way that we play here is a little bit foreign to him; he has grand ideas for the entire level and doesn't see the problem in expressing those ideas time and time again, rather than making smaller contributions."

"I only wished to help JIT integrate better into the flow here; for some reason he took my postings as attacks, and bundled himself up in the whole SNZ vs TCA thing, which he really had no business doing."

To which JIT replied:

"don't talk for other people ; this is your view on the thing. i mean you are an idiot and your brain is too small to understand simple things."

I extend an olive branch; if it is slapped out of my hand, I'm not nice enough of a guy to continue extending it.
