i agree... its just that my version of the sito-ape, stip, might have been a little vague -- specifically with reference to the what is termed in america as "blackface" make-up in movies and theater. it might have been misunderstood, i suppose. or, made someone think of that -- hence the connection to the black garden gnomes having a little more meaning.

as for garden gnomes, i would guess that, at this point, they are a phenomenon just about everywhere! haha maybe on some remote pacific island you would find garden gnomes.
