"TCA, SNZ yes you're both probably right about the voting, we all know democracy just doesn't work. And no I can't ignore you when you contribute so prolifically. I guess I just long for a resolution and I know I'm relatively new here so I think maybe I'm not the only one. The irresistable force and the immovable object locked in combat forever. ho hum. The skirmishes end when the apparently slightly more reasonable one (TCA) unilaterally banishes himself from the grid for a while as he says he will do again. Is this always the best resolution? Apparently many would say yes but I don't know. At least in my scenario who got to stay would have something to do with what their fellow collaborators thought of their contributions." i think root offers up some meta-insight into what this thread (arguably) is all about. its not really about who does "art" right or wrong or what is porn or what is boring or creative -- its really about just wanting a seemingly endless cycle to END. why end? well, because the point is made. the opponents have poked each other in the eye (in public) enough times, we get it, lets move on. the gridcosm is public art, a public "space" where everyone can "speak" (visually). root's anarchist coffeeshop is a great analogy. its why the flame wars wont ever move to a PANIC, say. its not public. even the gridcosm forum is not public enough. the art of the grid is front and center and, for both good and bad, it is where the mark is left of the current events. whether they be a plane flying into a tower, or why user A *now* thinks user B is incompetent. in short, i love expression, but i also love resolution. or at least the understanding that the POINT being expressed is, well, expressed. yes, we got it. YOU hate THEM. its noted. lets progress, lets listen to the other comments made on our collaborations. yours, in a dreamy fantasyland, -jon | ||
