i like the analogy of blending with that of storytelling. maybe its not even an analogy, but simple fact. good collage, good collaboration, is about bringing together different pieces to make a shared message, at least to some degree. i guess the way i look at it is, there are a lot of ways to mix two (or more) things and NOT make sense, let alone a story, including an infinite number of random methods. there is nothing interesting in this. the interesting stuff happens when connections are made.
