I started at PCC in 67 as a math major which quickly changed after Calculus 3. I had been a yearbook photographer at Muir HS so I changed majors to take photo courses which were in the art department. Had to take my first drawing course then. Later discovered printmaking with Ben Sakoguchi (still a friend, now retired). Graduated in 69 with an AA in Art and then went to Long Beach State for an BA and MFA. While in PCC I worked selling shoes at a Broadway, now gone, that was across the street from the then Pasadena Art Museum, now the Pacific Asia Museum. I was never old enough to drink in my Pasadena days, but while living in a photo studio and apartment around the corner from PCC made home made beer and wine mixed with a lot of smoke. I barely recognize most of Pasadena when I drive through these days except for my old neighborhood in far west Pasadena. After Long Beach lived in Los Felix and then Malibu before heading to Texas 16 years ago. I can recommend Joe Jost's bar in Long Beach.
