Dry. Dignified. What makes the scene funny is that the newsreader and his desk are partially submerged in water in a pond.

My post is so "stick up" your ass or mine, SNY? Your version of Gridcosm: The Motion Picture would play nicely at a techno club. You can dance to it. I suppose reading the poem backwards would be Dadaesque. Or something.

But seriously. Reading the poem in a natural tone of voice could make listening to the poem continously for a long period of time tolerable for the audience.
