I'm doing better than I thought I would. Spent twelve hours today. Managed to salvage about half of the images. The rest are lost forever. One huge compressed archive was a total loss. Months of images gone. The internal hard disk is functioning for the time being, thanks to diagnostic software. Norton earns most of the credit for data recovery.
