Regarding the SUP fest and past transgressions I would've thought the opening paragraph on the entry page would be enough "Gridcosm is a collaborative art project . . ."

In my experience it's pretty much an informal process on the web that you check things out before adding to them (FAQ's, User forums etc.) But perhaps there needs to be a bolder statement; it's always hard to tell if someone's doing it on purpose or is simply oblivious. Newbies of course get thhe benefit of the doubt . . .
