Dear Mike, I have to agree with Sunny about everything he says except that I *am* pissed. I do see the Gridcosm starting to turn into communimage (which I think looks like a quilt with almost no cohesion at all). I did think that your inside-outside collaboration with Unk was really pretty cool despite its unsavory methods (reserving every panel on each level yourselves). That kind of thing is an exception to the rules. There's a reason I don't like it when you reserve every other panel on the level. I have an ego too - I admit it! I want to see what other people do with my image. Not just what you will do with it. I also want to figure out ways to connect to other peoples' images that they hadn't thought of, that are clever or funny or which make a statement. I want to try different styles and see how well I can imitate other peoples' work. It's fun! It's educational! It takes me at least two hours to finish each panel I do, and the best ones (the ones I like) take me almost all the time Ed gives us (a few times, which I regret, I have had to re-reserve a panel to finish it). It's hard work, but it's worth it because everyone else is treating it with the same seriousness, trying to pervert my panel in cool new ways the same way I did theirs. But what you are doing is not hard work. It's not fun for anyone else, and I have a hard time imagining that it's any fun for you, unless you're having fun watching us react to your abuse of the system, which is just mean. I talked with you privately about this. I thought we actually clicked. I think now that you suckered me. Sorrowfully, Roz
