Viewing the Reader Grid
Here are a bunch of versions of the ReaderGrid for people who want to look at it but don't have a lot of bandwidth or memory:Here are two html pages that will cause your web browser (if it's a recent one) to show you a perfectly-stiched version of the readergrid (which bigboy is not, but very close). It has to download all the individual squares as seperate files, so this could take a while. I've tested these with Netscape 2.02 and 3.0b4. View at your own risk of crashes.
- rdrgrid_bigboy.jpg (2319K) - Full Size, stiched together by Ed, known as bigboy
- rdrgrid_full-thirdsize.jpg (499K) - One Third Size version of bigboy
- rdrgrid_full-thirdsize-sm.jpg (1083K) - One Third Size version of bigboy, compressed to smaller filesize and lower quality with JPEG. (Not a ton of quality loss)
- rdrgrid_bigboy256.jpg (650K) - An 8bit version of bigboy
- rdrgrid_bigboy256.gif (500K) - 8bit version of bigboy in interlaced gif format, another proof of why the JPEG algorithm is just oh-so-much better
- rdrgrid_full.html (3292K) - Full Size
- rdrgrid_full150.html (3292K) - Each square is displayed at 150x150 pixels. Note that the scaling is done by the browser, so it still has to download all the files at their full size, thus eating bandwidth.
- rdrgrid_full100.html (3292K) - A good size to fit on most screens. Same note as above.
