Time to Dream (Self-portrait)
(oil)
It's 5:00 and time to nap and dream. What a gorgeously wonderful day.
I would be a happy girl if I could lay on the grass with you,
stretched out on a blanket built for two, and I would hum you love
songs, because I'm too shy to sing them. We could pick up our
favorite rocks and leaves and interesting things that people
threw away and put them in our pockets, because they are magic.
Let's eat chocolate bars that are half-melted and stuck to our hands
and giggle uncontrollably. Then we'll wash off our faces in
questionably green water where fishes swim. Lean down to hear the
bubbling. Be careful not to step on a piece of glass. You can
wear sunglasses and sing into the end of a water hose really loud.
No one is around, but you don't care anyway.
