[Letting Go]
Letting Go

(oil)

Mom had this dream. She walked out onto a beach and found an ocean in front of her. She was surprised at how large everthing was. The sky began to turn white and she realized that God was there and as she reached out, he picked her up, like a small child. He sat her on his knee, and he comforted her. She knew she had to let go of a butterfly she had in her hands, and he was going to help her. She opened her hands and the butterfly flew up, and the next thing she saw was her mother and god going down a bright tunnel to heaven. She didn't want her to go, and she cried for her to stay. Her mother told her ot to cry, because she would always be with her. She had always thought she needed to hold onto that grief, to hold onto that butterfly, to stay connected to her mother. She's had to be so strong, and I will forever be so proud of her.
