Duncan's Dream
(oil)
Duncan cannot see. The silence whispers to him. It
nudges him along this narrow path. He stops in fear.
It tells him not to be afraid. He takes a long deep
breath and moves forward. The silence is buzzing in
his ears... buzzing louder and louder and louder. He
focuses on the buzzing. It is hurting him. He wants
to cry out, but he doesn't. He focuses harder. He
holds his breath and forces the buzzing down, pushing
it lower and lower and lower. The silence becomes
soft and still and then fades away. He lets his breath
out and takes another one in. He opens his eyes.
