June 2000, London group of site-specific practitioners, Luna Nera, travelled to Russia to participate in "Floodplain of Time". This was a landart intervention in an old industrial site in the city of Nizhny Novgorod (former Gorky). Luna Nera collaborated with Russian artists from all over Russia to realise this project. The prject was curated and directed by Eugene Strelkov of group "Dirizhable" and featured installations, video photography, performance and artist books. The project was opened to the public for one day only, and exists now as a catalogue and a website: Land Art Project \"Flood Plain of Time\" <www.dirizhabl.sandy.ru> In September 2000 the second of a series of exhibiotns of the work made form the project was held in the Centre of Contemporary Art, Nizhny Novgorod (the first was in Moscow in late June. A show in London is planned for later in the year. The artists involved in the exhibition, together with other interested artists, are now discussing repeating the project in 2001, again in Nizhny Novgorod, but at another site.
