I just don't want to see Daryl Hannah get blamed for the mayor losing his run for governor. Sparring? No, our Panic match is GIMP tennis. Although I must confess that I sometimes use Photoshop 6 in the Classic layer of Mac OS X Tiger. Back in the 1990s I thought about the "cut-up technique" of William Burroughs. Then I thought about the fact that the Burroughs business machine company was founded by his grandfather. And then I thought about the "cut & paste" of the Apple Macintosh. And then I discovered Gridcosm. The b2 centerpiece of the grid poem is a "cut-up" of random words from sito.synergy.gridcosm generated by a computer. Burroughs borrowed the "cut-up technique" from painter Brion Gysin and used it in literature. Why not borrow the "cut-up technique" from Burroughs and use it in digital art?
