Some remarks about ICONORREA

I'M very sad because OED is anoyed with me. I apologise for all the misunderstanding! Honestly, i was trying to shake things a little bit, but in any way was i trying to create enemies! I really love being around here but to me collaboration is much more than blendy procedures! I honestly believe that collaboration in the gridscom context could ALSO be leting you develop your ideas in more than one square and more than one level, sometimes causing aparently abrupt interruptions. Once it's done, and by observing other articipant's technique (or lack of) and ideas (or lack of), we may find new ways of developing formal continuity (other than the more obvious "i draw the legs and then you draw the feet")! I believe that this kind of conceptual concern, if shared by some of us, could create a very interesting shift in the overall gridscom structure and appearence, because on the other hand, if we just put things in the automatic pilot (blending and nothing else), we would end up in sort of a ICONORREIA (aka iconic diarreia). That's a conundrum very similar to the one pointed by Iannis Xenakis against serialism and post-serialism! What i've been doing here is trying to translate that conundrum into the realm of post-modern's image production. SITO is a extraordinary place to make this debate: it's democratic, open, and will survive in the cyber-world as long as it remains as it already is: truly democratic! We all matter! Not to hell, but to HEAVEN with all of you! My concern is that once we create a routine, (even if it is a well intended, artsy-blendy one), we might end in a dogmatic pseudo-free situation. And this dogmatic situation will produce a cyber-social division of "sitomaritans" (brilliant OED's neologism) and parias. But i'm not a paria! I like very much MRM's geometrical interventions! They create a very interesting abstract topography through wich images can (more than simply flow) MEAN SOMETHING! And not something obvious, of course! I enjoyed very much your blendy intervention in my FUCKA-SCHOLLA logo (and not only this one)! About the "fuck off", sorry if i caused you that impression! I ended up thinking that it was you telling me to stop dirturbing the blendy flow. To wrap it up, i only need to say in my defense that i'm not a "lazy anarchist" (in portuguese: ANARQUISTA PREGUIÇOSO) and that i was not behaving as such. On the contrary, i've been influenced by the brilliant jewish philosopher Jacques Derrida and was trying to DECONSTRUCT de gridscom (and this concept has nothing to do with destruction or any kind of vandalism)! Take our dear Woody, for instance: tired of being "Die Ganze Woody Allen", he is taking risks once again, trying to develop a new level in his filmic production. Of course there will be mistakes in the process (Cassandra's dream, for example), but mistakes are a very important part of any process! What really matters is to avoid becoming fossilized in your reputation, or becoming hostage of your fan's expectations! Fraternal hugh!
