Makes sense. I'd be the first to say that in many ways the grid is disposable, or at least some of my contributions have been. When I say disposable I mean that the contributions aren't always mindful of the rest of the grid or there's no real intent beyond messing around with Photoshop. Part of that is almost a defense mechanism, if you invest too much in trying to blend in with the grid, it's all too possible that you get burned when someone slaps something up next to yours, or you feel someone is not picking up your cues. That used to happen to me a lot in the early days and it's probably a pretty common experience. That's definitely part of the appeal though, because when the opposite happens and all contributors are somehow in sync, is when the grid begins to shine. All this is a lot of blab though, because I think in many ways TCA said it best: the grid is like a garage band: ...discuss?num=6888 Although I'd like to to think that even garage bands are capable of the sublime . . .
