thanks for your input, bettina. maybe the original post was just an open letter to the (net)universe requesting more females join in. (and also maybe a nostalgic cry for some to come back who havent been around for a while?) sito has had some awesome women contributors from the very start, and bigtime participants, too. LEN, AUS, SAX come to mind, and i know there were many more (i am talking like pre-1996 sito... *old school*). i feel pretty lucky sito has the input from the women that we have over the years, despite internet demographics reflecting the greater imbalance that we see in society. i am also glad there is the opportunity for the genderness (or otherwise) of sitoans to be masked a bit, too, for the reasons you point out, and others. sometimes, you just dont notice or care -- and that says a lot... the art stands on its own. who is this person? where are they from?
