When someone is thinks they are funny, but simply are trying way to hard too be funny we say they are full of cheese, laying on the cheese or simply cheesy. If you are dealing with a person who is know for being cheesy, then you may well be aware of the "cheese factor" involved in dealing with that person. For example, 'There is always a cheese factor when Jim hosts the show.'
