The "guests" question a few days back got me to thinking about other techniques I've used in the past to alter my method of working on the grid. In no particular order here are some of the things I've done (don't have levels to illustrate). 1. Rotate the entire canvas 180 degrees and compose my square that way. When finished, rotate back to original. 2. Invert the colors on the collab squares and then make my square that way. The last step is to invert back to original (Works better on abstract or "painted" levels, but you can get some interesting effects with photos too) 3.) Radically alter either the height or width of the canvas size so you are *not* working in a square format. Compose the square as you wish, the last step is then to change the proportions back to square, resulting in proportion oddities. 4.) Using absolutely no original source material whatsoever, only other peoples squares, try to make a new square using only the lasso tool, dodge and burn. Am I the only freak who's done stuff like this with the grid?
