A mixture of out-of-townedness and not-wanting-to-fuck-things-uppedness is keeping the Gridcosm in its current state. I think the actual culprit in 'crashing' the Gridcosm was on overload on the bit of code that generates the "starting text" for each level. The base text for each new level is a truncated anagram of the words used in the previous level. Sometimes the dictionary barfs and holds up the Gridcosm. Jon usually does some bit-juggling and kickstarts, but he's not available at the moment. I could dig around, but I don't want to risk disabling other database stuff. I know just enough to get a lot of people in trouble. It does need gussying though, agreed.
