Well, as TCA said, the MSNBC thing was posted last, actually *after* I made my first comment. In terms of feeling gypped off, I accepted long ago the dashed expectations one has when a neighboring square doesn't do what you'd like. But that's part of the Gridcosm deal and so be it. That doesn't bother me. My problem is that despite TCA's explanations, I just don't see how he's working with anyone but himself on that level. This project works best (IMO) when all participants are doing individual squares that they can call their own AND simultaneously blending and considering their neighbors. The sum of the parts . . etc. TCA, you called it a "counterpoint" but I just don't get what you think you were countering. If you were countering with content, then I guess i missed the point (and yes i am familiar with The Prisoner). If you were countering with style then why not riff on the elements present in the level? Your theme of three squares, basically a quilt as NLT said, brings the whole composition to a grinding halt. If that's what you mean by a counterpoint then I guess it worked.
