thanks, truly, TCA for the footnoted essay on blendiness (or not) in the grid. certainly, "collage" is one of those tricky, sticky corners of the art world that many people dont know what to do with in the first place. take this and add the always-volatile world of collaboration, and who knows *what* you get? this is (among other reasons) the realm we like to explore with sito:synergy. true, concensus tends towards blendy, flowing. almost (*almost*) no one likes true noise/chaos/random in the grid (or, say, in collage). but, the important question then remains: where is the line drawn between these two extremes? what has concensus to say about that? i for one hope the TCAs and DUHs and BUHs of the world don't disappear forever. and i say that as one who sometimes finds himself clicking the gridcosm news and grating my teeth and shaking my head. i guess, ultimately, i have an aesthetic, but dont want to become complacent.
