here is the deal -- we wont know if the jpeg (of any flavor) "takes" until the magic moment happens when a new level of gridcosm is born. it is at this point that the magic jpeg-eating scripts will attempt to incorporate the jpegs into a new (middle) image.

that said, i have yet to see a jpeg kill it. so i think the latest compile of jpeg libraries is pretty robust. go ahead and try some "weird" jpeg flavors.

as for politics, to the best of my knowledge, jpegs are all 100% geek-friendly. heh
