You bring up an issue of endless discussion and debate.

I'm not interested in opening old wounds, but it can be a nasty issue at times.

The main point is that it is, at least, polite to try to blend, merge, squish, etc - and sometimes it is entirely appropriate to not do so at all.

As the old quote says: 'I don't know what pornography is, but I know it when I see it' And it is pretty obvious when people don't try.

I try - not always successfully, though. And sometimes I don't try, but I try to do so with the a greater continuity in mind, if that is possible.
