seems to have happened again. it might be a worthwhile bit of code to check an image size on upload/before stitching. i know that it's pretty easy to do with gd (which only works on gifs or pngs, depending on the version you've got), but it seems other libraries would allow the same sort of checking for jpgs. also, speaking of checking things at upload, i kind of miss the "check yr image for impurities" stage. i'm always paranoid that i'm uploading the wrong file or something.
