Lithops is a plant that looks like a stone (and actually hides between stones). It lives here on our window sill since 2 years and is now blooming for the first time. The name "Hottentottenpopo" derives from the ambiguous form, that was compared with the reputed in-your-face bottoms of a population group in south africa... - you've got the same expression "hotentots", but the Oxford Dictionary of South African English calls it "offensive".
