You hit the nail on the head! Without naming names - or - gender!! It is about a *friendship of convenience* which is OK. A lot of friendships are based on that, but with give and take on both sides. The round face is the true friend, (but gets taken for a fool sometimes). And the thin face is leaning into the round face - but all the while looking around for something else,(what)? - Who would know - only that person!!
