This isn't a gallery screening, rating ranking site, or museum site either. It's a place for artists (professional, amateur, and novice alike) to post their stuff. That's why I love it. I've seen children and adults who may not necessarily have 'technical talents' completely shut down and shut themselves off from creative expression, because someone mocked their initial attempts. Everyone can be an artist and enjoy the process if they want to, and there is someone in the world who will just love it no matter what it looks, reads, sounds like. But hey, freedom of speech, I believe in it, you have every right. If you walked up to Derek and said that, or even sent him a personal email then I'd think you were kind of a jerk. But leaving anonymous messages on a public board, then yeah, pathetic, cowardly. Did you honestly want him to justify why he thinks this is art for some deeper psychological/cultural insight? And if so, maybe you could've phrased it a little better, less hurtful?
