Description:Drawing assignment: to create a series of drawings with unifying theme. This drawing is based on photography by Gail Fisher. The photo was in a series chroniclizing the plight of radioactive contamination affecting the Navajo people. I took textured paper, crumpled it up, then flatened and sketched the portrait to capture the wrinkled skin of this Navajo lady. More drawings in this series to come. Graphite and charcoal on paper.
