Description: Oil paint on canvas. 20" X 20". Successive horizontal lines of the diagonals and sides of the nested pentagons, going from the largest to the smallest are in the ratio 1.6180..to 1 (diagonal to side), i.e. in the Golden Ratio. Starting from the largest, black, line and ending with smallest, a side of the central, white, pentagon, the lengths of the lines are, successively, 55, 34, 21, 13, 8, 5, 3, 2, 1. This represents the first part of the Fibonacci series in reverse. It is obvious that the smallest numbers are not in the Golden Ratio with respect to each other, but on the Planck scale only units exist, no irrational quantities.
