Description:I like doing flyers for people. Shaki Presents is Rick Omonte, who I knew through the Northeast Ska Scene (and I'm not ashamed of it!) Omonte, former bassist for Spring Heeled Jack (USA-t'aint the ambient trip-hop band) is currently a promoter for BAR, a night club in New Haven, Conn. He hosts a weekly series of indie-alternative music and always has different artists create full-color posters to promote the events. (Go here for current listings and an archive of other awesome posters http://www.barnightclub.com/ ) This poster was hand-drawn (including lettering) with pencil and technical pens, and the coloring and other alterations/tweakings was created via Ye Olde Photoshoppe. I was drawing the poster during the first spurts out of Mount Saint Helens (our backyard volcano) and decided to incorporate that into the image. Now just wait until Mt. Tabor blows...
