Description:Why yes, another flyer for show-promoter Rick Omonte in New Haven, Connecticut! As with the last two I've uploaded, Rick, ex-Spring Heeled Jack (USA-ska) bass player, hosts a weekly new music showcase at BAR, a club in New Haven. Rick comissions a different artist for each event and asks her/him to create a full-color poster. (to see the poster archive for BAR, go to http://www.barnightclub.com/ ) Since we're in the midst of autumn, I figured I go with a seasonal theme. All the art and letterings were originally drawn with tech pen, and the extensive, extensive coloring and tweakings were done with Photoshop. Some of the ideas here are based off older turn-of-the-century posters I've looked at (viva Nouveau and related movements.) Shannon B. asked if I was going with a particular theme, as I've had other posters that feature women with stripey socks (and possibly scarves) wearing red Chuck Taylors. (Look at "Shaki Presents 29 Aug 04 in the Artchive) I don't think that I'm aiming for a theme, but I just like to draw 'em! I'm cursed.
