Description:Basswood low releif with colored shellaq and faux-gold leaf. This is from a misericorde(mercy-seat: a little ledge where people used to lean back when sitting in church wasn't allowed) in an old English church. I carved it in public at a a renaisance camp. I love creating art (particularly carving) in public.
