Description:Growing up in the 80s, the characters Akbar & Jeff from Matt Groening s comic strip Life In Hell, seen locally in the back pages of the free weekly Georgia Straight newspaper, were absolutely the first representation I encountered of homosexual lifestyles -- and all that without leaning on any existing stereotypes! As we entered Pride month I decided to pay tribute according to my nostalgic tradition -- in ANSI art, making for a nice marriage of a vintage subject in a vintage medium. A little fontage in the standard Groening typeface iced the cake.
