This body of work makes reference to the classical Greek legend of Persephone – the unfortunate daughter of Demeter whose annual death and rebirth usher in the changing seasons – as a means to address the issue of childhood sexual abuse. Through the use of this metaphor, Linton strives to make an emotional state palatable, and thus more easily approachable.
