Description:Granny was a person I never knew. I painted a number of portraits of her from a found photo album in a thrift store. Inside, written in gold marker stated, "To Granny. 1996". I assumed she had died and the family simply removed whatever mementos she had, giving them away to the second hand stores. This one in particular I built up the surface using acrylic modeling paste before applying oils. There are many consistencies you can buy of this stuff; this one using the "hard" and "tar" varieties.
