Description:Tektites are partly extra-terrestrial in origin: a meteor collides with the earth's surface throwing molten rocks high above the earth's atmosphere. These molten rock soon reenter the earth's atmosphere and become tektites as they hit the ground. So, the formation of tektites is nature's art in itself! Large tektites from the Philippines are also called philippinites and rizalites. The tektites found in the Philippines were found to be associated with at least eight meteor craters in Australia.
