Description:Acrylic on canvas, 24 x 36 in. I combined elements from Edward Hopper ("A Room in Brooklyn") and Claude Monet (landscape in background). Bust on the table is that of Aline Renoir, Pierre-Auguste Renoir's partner and wife of over 35 years (Richard Guino, "Head of a Woman", 1916). The painting employs essentially a middle key range of values for the interior, and a high key range for the background/landscape. Completed this work for a painting class I took during spring, 2006, at Sierra College, Rocklin, California.
